If you’ve read any of my past posts, you’ll know I’m a bit of a fan of the old bamboo face cloth. Let me tell you why.
The lightweight 100% bamboo dreamboats give your daily cleanse extra oomph to gently remove make-up, sunscreen and dead skin cells. They also stimulate circulation and help to reveal a fresh, bright complexion – so basically, why wouldn't you?
The cloths are also great for people with sensitive skin, because they give an extremely gentle exfoliation.
Let me talk about that for a second actually…
Exfoliation is key to a healthy complexion but too much can cause redness and irritation. Over-scrubbing can also lead to inflammation, a main culprit in premature aging. Please, ladies, you need to go gently! The bamboo face cloths mean you’re gently exfoliating every day and many clients often comment doing so means they don’t need to seek a weekly exfoliating scrub to smooth their skin.
So, as well as being total fairy godmothers for your complexion, bamboo cloths naturally contain antifungal and antibacterial properties. They’re beautifully silky and soft, but also manage to be good for the environment; bamboo is a fast-growing plant that doesn’t need pesticides or fertilizers, making it 100% sustainable and biodegradable.
All these delicious things add up to bamboo face cloths being perfect for babies too, so a gorgeous pressie for new mamas.
My preferred cleansing method is to completely remove all makeup by oil cleansing, and then using the bamboo towels to gently remove all the residue. One of my clients’ favourite parts of their facials is when I use compression – simply compressing a warm cloth or towel around people’s faces. It sooths the skin and opens your pores, as well as melting away any of the oil cleanser’s residue. Then I apply serums, moisturiser (which penetrate further, thanks to the hot towel) and sunscreen for day.
Wash regularly in your normal laundry in a delicate garment bag.
